UQ mobile launches "Komi-Komi Plan Value" and "Toku-Toku Plan 2"

KDDI and Okinawa Cellular will begin offering the "Komi-Komi Plan Value" and "Toku-Toku Plan 2" (hereafter "the Plans"), UQ mobile price plans with increased data capacity, from June 3, 2025.
The "Komi-Komi Plan Value" comes with 35 GB of data capacity and unlimited domestic calls of up to 10 minutes per call, as well as the "Ponta Pass," which offers discounts on purchases at Lawson stores.
The "Toku-Toku Plan 2" offers 30GB of data capacity each month, with an automatic discount for monthly data usage of 5GB or less.

Customers' data usage has been increasing due to the spread of 5G and growth in the use of content services such as video. This plan enhances the current "Komi-Komi Plan+" and "Toku-Toku Plan" by expanding data capacity.
In addition, from June 3, 2025, the point redemption rate for "Subscription Plus Points," which allows customers to accumulate Ponta points by subscribing to eligible services (Apple Music/TELASA/Netflix/YouTube Premium), will be increased from a maximum of 15% to a maximum of 20%. By using this plan along with the expanded data capacity, customers will be able to enjoy the content of the applicable services more advantageously.

With the launch of these plans, "Komi-Komi Plan+," "Toku-Toku Plan," "Mini-Mini Plan," and "UQ Oyako Ouen Discount" will no longer be available for new customers as of June 2, 2025. In addition, UQ mobile's current price plans will be revised in the future. Details will be announced in the future.

■About this Plan

1. Komi-Komi Plan Value

(1) Outline

This plan includes 35 GB of monthly data capacity and unlimited domestic calls of up to 10 minutes per call. In addition, the services of Telephone Kihon Pack (V) (answering service EX, three-way call service, nuisance call blocking service, and call-waiting service) are also available free of charge (Jump to the applicable sectionNote 2).
This service is eligible for "data carry-over". The remaining monthly data capacity for the current month is carried over to the following month and can be used until the end of the following month.
"Ponta Pass", which is normally offered for 548 yen per month, is available as a set (Jump to the applicable sectionNote 2). You can use "Weekly LAWSON", a free/discount coupon that can be used at Lawson every week, and "Ponta Pass Boost", which increases the Ponta Point redemption rate when you use au PAY to pay at Lawson.

(1) Outline

This is a price plan that allows for monthly data usage of up to 30GB, with an automatic discount for monthly data usage of 5GB or less (Jump to the applicable sectionNote 4).
This service is eligible for "data carry-over". The remaining monthly data capacity for the current month is carried over to the following month and can be used until the end of the following month.
The "Home Set Discount", a discount for customers who use the service in combination with the Internet service or electricity service, or the "Family Set Discount", a discount for family members, may be used for more affordable pricing.

■About "au Starlink Direct"

Customers using this plan can use "au Starlink Direct" for ¥550 per month.
"au Starlink Direct" uses existing au network to connect smartphones directly to Starlink satellites with direct to cell, enabling communication even in out-of-coverage areas, as long as the sky is visible. "au Starlink Direct" allows text messaging and location sharing as well as receiving emergency earthquake alerts and messaging with Gemini on Android smartphones.

■KDDI's Efforts to Improve Communication Quality

In FY2024, KDDI expanded the usable area of Sub6 (3.7GHz/4.0GHz band), which provides high-capacity and high-speed 5G communications, by increasing the output power of base stations and optimizing antenna angles. In addition, 5G SA service has been launched in the entire Sub6 area.
In addition to this, we are working daily to improve communication quality by optimizing the entire network including 4G, increasing communication speed (throughput), and improving latency (delay).
