KDDI and Okinawa Cellular announced the launch of three pricing plans with services tailored to each life stage from September 1, 2025.
"U12 Value Plan" is a plan enabling safe use of first smartphone for children aged 12 and under, "U16 Value Plan" is a flexible plan with pricing tailored to the data usage for children aged 16 and under, and "Senior Value Plan" is for those 60 and older with unlimited domestic calls (up to 5 minutes per call) and nuisance calls prevention service. "au Starlink Direct" is included in those three plans.
Additionally, KDDI will launch "One-Day Unlimited Data", allowing unlimited data usage for 24 hours on days when more data is needed, starting after mid-September 2025.
"U12 Value Plan" includes "Kodomamo" (means "protect your child", Regular monthly fee: 790 yen), an app that protects children from smartphone-related crime and accidents, and "au Kids Lab" (Regular monthly fee: 1,100 yen), an app that allows children to study English and explore various careers in a fun way using their smartphones, with no additional charge.
In addition, the "Senior Value Plan" offers a special benefit: au Jibun Bank's "Premium Interest Offer," which applies an annual interest rate of 0.55% (0.43% after tax) on yen regular savings account.

■About New Pricing Plan
1. "U12 Value Plan"
This plan is designed for users aged 12 and under (Note 2), offering data communication at a maximum speed of 300kbps for both sending and receiving (Note 3). By controlling the communication speed, it helps prevent excessive use of video streaming and gaming, while still allowing smooth access to essential daily-use services such as messaging with parents. Additionally, users can access the "Kodomamo" app, which helps protect children from smartphone-related crimes and accidents, and the "au Kids Lab" app, which offers self-learning content like English study and career exploration in a fun way with no additional charge.

2. "U16 Value Plan"
Designed for users aged 16 and under (Note 5), this attractive plan offers a two-tier data system, up to 3GB and up to 20GB, to suit different usage styles and seasonal needs. Compatible with "au Starlink Direct" and "Subscription Plus Points" are also available for use.

3. "Senior Value Plan"
This plan is designed for users aged 60 and older (Note 8), offering 5GB of data along with unlimited domestic calls of up to 5 minutes per call. It also includes the "Basic Phone Pack(V)Open in a new window", a set of optional services such as spam call protection, provided free of charge (Regular monthly fee: 440 yen).
The plan is compatible with "au Starlink Direct", and "Subscription Plus Points" are also available for use. In addition, discounts may be applied not only to customers who pay their au bills with an au PAY Card, but also customers who pay via au Jibun Bank.
Furthermore, customers are eligible for a special offer under the Jibun Plus Premium Stage, which applies the "Premium Interest Rate Benefit" from au Jibun Bank (Note 9). This means a regular savings interest rate of 0.55% per year will be applied (a 0.34% increase over the standard rate of 0.21%, resulting in an after-tax rate of 0.43%) (Note 10). ■One-Day Unlimited Data
KDDI will launch "One-Day Unlimited Data" service for customers subscribed to eligible 5G rate plans, allowing unlimited data usage for 24 hours. While using "Data One-Day Unlimited," data usage will not be counted in your contracted data allowance, so customers can enjoy the service without worrying about remaining data.

This app incorporates extensive expertise from AEON Corporation (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Takashi Shigeno), mpi Matsuka Phonics Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Chieko Takemura), and KCJ GROUP Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Michinari Tsumuraya), in the fields of "English learning" and "career exploration," which are increasingly in demand among families raising children. It features tools that support continuous learning and growth, such as a report function to track children's learning progress and the "10Values Finder," a diagnostic tool supervised by Professor Shinji Oshio of Waseda University (Ph.D. in Educational Psychology) and Nomura Research Institute, which helps diagnose children's strengths.
■Kodomamo
No additional charge when subscribing to the "U12 Value Plan" (Regular monthly fee: 790 yen)
Operated by Adora Inc. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Naoto Tomita), "Kodomamo" was developed in collaboration with police and universities to help protect children from crime and bullying, and to prevent unauthorized in-app purchases. Customers subscribing to the "U12 Value Plan" can access the app with no additional charge.

- (Note 2)This plan is available to subscribers who are between 5 and 12 years old at the time of contract (or the registered user, if user registration is in place). Customers who are already enrolled may continue using the plan after turning 13.
- (Note 3)Certain content within the "au Kids Lab" app, such as "The Great Adventure of AEON's English Explorers," can be accessed without any data speed restrictions.
- (Note 4)The U12 Family Discount applies when the subscriber is part of the same "au Smart Value/Family Discount Plus" group as a family member using a data-unlimited plan such as the au Value Link Plan (including plans that are no longer available for new applications).
- (Note 5)This plan is available to subscribers who are between 5 and 16 years old at the time of contract (or the registered user, if user registration is in place). Customers who are already enrolled may continue using the plan after turning 17; however, starting from the month following their 19th birthday, a flat-rate fee for up to 20GB will apply, even if actual data usage is 3GB or less.
- (Note 6)A discount of 220 yen will be applied if two family members are eligible for the Family Discount Plus, and 550 yen if three or more family members are eligible.
- (Note 7)Subscription to an eligible home internet service is required.
Example: For "au HIKARI Home –Giga-Toku Forever Plan" (3-year contract), a monthly fee of 5,610 yen plus a monthly phone usage fee of 770 yen will be charged separately.
