Headquarters to Relocate to TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY New Office to Officially Open on July 1
―Promoting innovation through internal and external collaboration―
KDDI Corporation
Tokyo, April 10, 2025―KDDI Corporation will begin relocating its headquarters to THE LINKPILLAR 1 NORTH in TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY starting April 28, 2025, and will hold the grand opening of the new headquarters on July 1, 2025. The new headquarters is built around the concept of a "Connectable City that evolves the power to connect and continues to inspire an exciting future." KDDI aims to create a hub where not only KDDI Group members, but also customers and partners can come together, share ideas, experiment, and drive innovation―like a city in itself.
The new headquarters features collaborative spaces designed to encourage co-creation both within and outside the company, areas for hosting events in partnership with Group companies, and offices with flexible layouts that can easily adapt to changing work styles. These elements will foster active communication and drive the generation of new ideas and innovation. In addition, KDDI plans to conduct trials and demonstrations aimed at realizing a smart city, including the use of robots and office BPO services.
KDDI is also undertaking a sustainability initiative related to the receipt of congratulatory gifts. For more information, please see the section at the end titled "Regarding Congratulatory Gifts from Business Partners."

Takanawa has long been a hub of interaction and innovation. In the Edo period, it served as the gateway to the capital through the Takanawa Okido Gate. About 150 years ago, it was also the site of a groundbreaking moment in history when Japan's first railway ran on the sea here. TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY carries on this legacy of connection and innovation. It is envisioned as a testing ground for a fulfilling life 100 years into the future, where ideas, services, and knowledge converge to create new solutions for a better tomorrow.
At TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, KDDI is working to realize a smart city by leveraging its corporate brand WAKONX. Initiatives include the Machi App, which delivers timely information to users by combining urban and au data; autonomous robots that support daily life; and a "dashboard" that simulates the city's future. Through these efforts, KDDI aims to connect people and the city in meaningful ways.
KDDI will use its new headquarters as a hub to foster cross-company and cross-department collaboration and synergy, taking on the challenge of connecting with partners to create the future. The initiatives launched in Takanawa are expected to expand nationwide―and eventually across the world.
