LAC and KDDI to Begin Full-Fledged Global Rollout of Security Solutions to Counter Cyber-Attacks

LAC Co., Ltd.
KDDI Corporation

LAC and KDDI will begin full-fledged global deployment of security solutions to counter cyber-attacks from July 28, 2025.
By combining LAC's expertise in security monitoring and operations backed by one of Japan's largest security operations centers with KDDI's global business footprint, the two companies will enable rapid, appropriate responses to security incidents, including at overseas locations.
As a first step, they will establish a global support function to handle inquiries from overseas sites. Going forward, they will protect customers' critical information assets, infrastructure, and international sites, and gradually expand services―such as enhanced security frameworks and multilingual support―tailored to each customer's needs and environment.
KDDI regards advanced security as indispensable for driving digitalization and AI utilization to create new value. Through their joint platform "WAKONX," both companies will accelerate Japan's digital transformation, strengthen measures against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats, and expand related businesses.

■Background

Cyber-attacks have grown into a global challenge, targeting organizations of all sizes. Overseas subsidiaries and supply-chain partners with insufficient security measures are especially vulnerable.
In the era of digitalization and AI, advanced security is essential. To address this environment where communication and AI permeate every industry and aspect of daily life, LAC became a wholly owned subsidiary of KDDI in February 2025. By integrating KDDI's network capabilities with LAC's security expertise and advancing cyber-security services, the two companies aim to contribute to the development of Japan's cyber-security industry [Jump to the applicable section1].
Until now, LAC and KDDI have offered managed security services domestically to reduce customers' operational burden. This global rollout marks the first joint initiative between security-specialist LAC and globally active KDDI.
